A graham cracker crust is an extremely simple crust, probably the easiest pie crust out there, other than buying a pre-made one at the store. Plus, it can be used for a variety of desserts, the most common being the cheesecake. Many people, however, prefer a graham cracker crust to a standard flaky pie crust when making many of their normal pies.
A common variation of the graham cracker pie crust is replacing the crackers with an Oreo-style cookie and removing the addition of the sugar. This style of pie and cheesecake crust is very popular and definitely worth trying out.
Ingredients
- 12 whole graham crackers
- 6 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 c. sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Crush the graham crackers into very small crumbs (I use a large ziploc bag and a rolling pin).
- Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar and melted butter into a bowl and stir until well combined.
- Place crumbs into pan and press with your fingers into place.
- Place in preheated oven and bake around 10 minutes, or until crust is around a shade darker.
- Allow graham cracker crust to cool completely before adding any filling.
